Why this exists
The Racine 281 Aerie and Auxiliary Newsletter goes out four times a year - 1 July, 1 October, 1 January and 1 April. It carries the dinner dates, the meeting times, the officer list and whatever the Presidents and the Secretary need the membership to know.
The trouble with a quarterly bulletin is that it is only current for about a week. Somebody asks what time the fish fry starts, or whether the club is open on the 24th, and the answer is on a sheet of paper somebody has already recycled.
What is on the site now
Everything in the bulletin that a member or a neighbour might want at short notice:
- The full 2026-2027 calendar, including the days the club is closed
- The Friday fish fry menu with prices
- The dinners that are already costed, with their RSVP dates
- The officers of the Aerie and the Auxiliary
What has not changed
The newsletter still comes out, and it is still the place where the Presidents write to the membership. Submissions are due by the 20th of the month before publication. If you have something for it, hand it to an editor at the club.
Dates move. Volunteers get sick, holidays land badly, a hall booking runs long. When something changes at short notice it goes on the club's Facebook page first, and the phone is always right.
Enquire About the Hall - the form reaches the club, and so does the phone.
